Flint Cottage

Despite being in the middle of SO many projects I woke up the other morning desperately wanting to work on Flint Cottage. This is a 144th scale kit that I bought from http://www.insomesmallway.co.uk/ at the Miniatura show in October last year, and popped away for a rainy day.
Well it wasn't a rainy day but I just wanted to do it - and so I did. I got so carried away I had done quite a bit before I remembered to take photographs!
Here I have already put the exterior paper on, inserted the windows, window sills and door.

The ground floor and the 1st floor in and the wall dividers.

The inside front wall painted and lace curtains.

A close up of the lace curtains.

Close up of the curtains from outside.

The front is on.

The inside with the front on and the stairs and rails in.

Here the dowel that hinges the back door is clamped whilst it dries.

It is a lovely kit that I would like to do again but to be a bit more adventurous with and wallpaper the insides along with a few other things - I just wasn't sure this time around about how to go about it all. The next bit will proove to be a challenge as I appear to have warped the sides slightly and they will need clamping in for the next floor to fit snugly. There are also 4 beautiful brick fireplaces to build and put in, two lovely brick chimneys and two attic rooms - so plenty to keep me busy.
