Cornwall

We have had just over a week in Boscastle in Cornwall on holiday. The weather was fantastic and the views too. So here is a quick tour in pictures of our holiday.

Boscastle Harbour

Crackington Haven, our favourite beach.

Kite flying at the beach.

Lanhydrock, a National Trust Property.

I loved the way this house was designed, there are lots of windows looking out onto other parts of the house so you can enjoy the beauty of the exterior of the building whilst still in it!

I loved this little greenhouse and it put me in mind of that Wardian Case in Picket Hill.

We all loved the play room, you could watch a slide show of the photographs of generations of children that had played in there with all the toys still on display.

I cannot imagine having all that white lace in our little lads room when he was a baby but it was so lovely to look at.

I particularly liked this print.

The little horse placed carelessly on a chair really stole my heart.

This quilt of hexagons was wonderful.

Of course with it being Easter there were old eggs on display.

In the school room were these wonderful dolls houses made entirely of fabric.

This is the adorable cottage in the middle of the gardens.

I loved the idea of a magnolia tunnel.

The other National Trust property we visited was Tintagel Old Post Office.

At the back of the house is an extremely peaceful garden.

There were the craziest of stairs,

the twistiest of stairs and the tiniest of windows.

Of course as well the real draw for me was the wonderful old samplers, quilts and rag rugs.

Now it is back to life as normal, well as near to it as we ever get!

Hiya Claire!
I don't know how I missed this post before, glad you've put up a few pictures of Cornwall. Crackington Haven looks lovely, was that Elliot flying that kite?
Lanhydrock looks fab, I love the dollshouses, the fabric ones look really strange (in a nice way!), I wonder how they've stiffened the fabric to stand up? Was there any indication?
Tintagel Old Post Office looks wonderful... and those one-step stairs look crazy and such a H&S nightmare!! Don't attempt those at night... in the dark... when drunk!! I'd be going down very fast, A-over-T in no time!!
Hugs

Lovely old houses, with lots to inspire! Beautiful gardens as well - so much history there.
