Soooo cold!

The blog has been so very quiet not because I have not been making things but because I have been making too much! I would LOVE to share it all with you but they are Christmas presents so I don't want to ruin the surprise. I did however have to take some photos today of our pom pom tree. It has been so cold here today that it has not risen above zero all day, the great thing about that is the photo opportunities of the amazing frost that stayed all day. Not only is each and every pom pom covered in beautiful glittering miniature icicles but the string they are hanging from and all the leaves and branches. The photos don't do it justice, you cannot see the ice twinkling in the winter sunlight. Beats any decorations.

Seeing as I can't post photos of the presents I am making right now I thought I would raid the back catalogue and post some photos of previous presents over the next few weeks. This first one is an embroidery I did for my Dads birthday back in June. It is a Derwent Water design stitched on linen. The framer chose this wonderful wood for the frame that looks like old planks from the fishing boat itself!

Now its nose back to the present making grindstone!

Um, yeah! I can relate to it being cold outside. I live in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Alberta's right above Montana. A couple of days ago it was -25 degrees Celsius and I don't think that factored in the windchill. Lots of people think the snow is romantic. My response is, not when it piles up on all the roads and people who should know better drive like maniacs and cause accidents!
Looking forward to your Christmas scene and intrigued to learn you have an Etsy shop. Although I see it's empty, I'm going to go favorite it right now, before I forget!

Heh heh - I know we don't really know what it is like to be cold it was a balmy -2 degrees here and I was complaining! I am not a winter fan unless I can just look at the pretty landscape through the window from beside my fire! My etsy shop has, much to my shame, been empty for some time - I just keep getting distracted by making things for myself and friends and forgetting to sell anything! Like your snowflake soap on a rope though! Claire
